Spiritual Warfare

There is a war you don’t always see.

Not fought with guns or swords.

But with thoughts.

With temptation.

With weariness.

With fear.

With silence.

The enemy doesn’t knock.

He creeps in unnoticed.

He waits until you're tired… doubting… alone.

Until you’re swimming just a little too deep.

And then he surrounds you-

with lies that sound almost like truth.

With shadows that mimic light.

With pressure that makes you forget you were ever free.

The picture above?

That’s what it feels like sometimes.

You’re just trying to breathe.

To stay afloat.

To hold onto what’s true.

While darkness pulls at you from every side.

Familiar voices… distorted.

Familiar faces… now distant.

And then the whispers begin:

“You’re never gonna be healed.”

“You’re always gonna feel like this.”

“It’s not going to get better.”

“You’ll always be in pain.”

“What kind of future do you have?”

“What kind of life can you offer him?”

“You’re just a burden.”

“They’d be better off without you.”

They echo in your head until they start to sound like your own voice.

Until you question if faith is even working.

Until you wonder if God forgot you.

But listen-

He already came.

And He’s not letting go.

Ephesians 6 tells us clearly:

“We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world…”

That means the battle isn’t always visible.

That means the attack isn’t always logical.

It's spiritual...

But that also means... your weapons are spiritual too:

Prayer.

Praise.

Scripture.

Worship.

Truth.

Authority.

You are not unarmed.

You are not outnumbered.

You are not forgotten.

Even when the war is raging....

He may whisper lies. He may attack your mind, your body, your marriage, your calling.

But don’t forget how the story ends.

He loses.

His fate isn’t just hopeful-it’s written. It’s sealed. It’s final.

And here’s the proof:

Revelation 20:10:

“And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.”

The enemy’s defeat is already written.... But that doesn’t mean he won’t fight hard to take you down with him.

So don’t be surprised when it gets harder after you step into purpose.

If you belong to Jesus, your salvation-your eternal soul-is secure in Him.

John 10:28–29 says:

“I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.”

Once you’ve genuinely placed your faith in Christ, your soul is sealed by the Holy Spirit-

Ephesians 1:13:

And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit.

Satan cannot own you.

He can:

•Attack your thoughts

•Tempt your flesh

•Try to derail your purpose

•Influence your emotions

But he cannot:

•Possess you (if you are saved)

•Separate you from God's love (Romans 8:38-39)

•Cancel your salvation

Your soul is God’s property when you are in Christ.

However, believers can come under attack or open spiritual doors to the enemy through sin, disobedience, bitterness, or unrepentant habits-but he’ll do everything in his power to shake your faith, distract your focus, and wear down your will.

Because here’s the truth most people miss:

Spiritual warfare isn’t about Satan trying to own you-it’s about him trying to influence your choices.

To pull you out of alignment.

To lure you into sin so you feel distant from God.

That’s why spiritual warfare matters.

Because even though your soul is safe, your peace, your purpose, your joy, your marriage, your mind-those are daily battlegrounds.

And the more you press into God-

The more you worship,

The more you tithe,

The more you pray,

The more you serve,

The more you obey-

the louder hell gets.

Not because you’re losing.

But because you're advancing

Satan makes you question what’s already yours....That’s the heart of spiritual warfare.

When the enemy presses in after your baptism, or after healing, or breakthrough.

Or even marriage.

In our case-it was all three...

We got married by law and under God and baptized together as husband and wife…

and the enemy never came after us harder than he did after that.

Because it wasn’t just a milestone.

It was a declaration.

And hell heard it.

And that’s why he fights harder when you get closer to God.

Because your alignment is dangerous.

Because your faith threatens every plan he had for your destruction.

You ever notice how quiet he gets when you’re sinning?

When you’re distracted?

When you're living half in and half out?

That’s because you’re no threat to him then.

He leaves you alone...not out of mercy, but because compromise is already doing his job.

But the moment you get serious...

When you tithe out of trust…

When you worship even when you’re wounded…

When you pray even when you don’t feel heard…

When you choose forgiveness over bitterness, purity over pleasure, purpose over pity...

that’s when all hell breaks loose.

Because that’s when Heaven shows up.

And if you want to know where you are spiritually?

Take inventory of your intake.

How are you speaking?

To others? To yourself?

Are you blessing or cursing?

Are you gossiping?

Are you kind?

What are you watching?

What are you listening to?

What are you feeding your spirit?

Is it truth? Or is it poison wrapped in comfort?

Because when you tune your life to God’s frequency...

When you start showing up in church, serving others,

Loving your spouse, showing grace to your family,

Filling your ears with worship and your days with light....

You’ll feel the shift.

That’s spiritual warfare.

It’s not always demons in the dark.

Sometimes it’s choosing not to scroll.

Choosing not to snap back.

Choosing softness over bluntness.

Choosing grace.

Choosing to get up and do the right thing anyway.

Choosing to do the right thing.

That’s a battle.

And every time you choose Jesus,

You win.

Stay anchored.

Stay armored.

And keep swimming toward the light.

You’re not alone in the water.
